Cook County provides the following services to residents:
Voter Registration and Elections Oversight: The Cook County Clerk's Office manages all elections within Cook County. Residents can register to vote at the Northbrook Village Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Residents may also register at the Northfield Township office in Glenview or at any Secretary of State driver’s license facility.
Circuit Court and Legal Services: Cook County manages the local circuit court and legal services associated with the court.
Forest Preserves: Cook County maintains the Cook County Forest Preserve including the Brookfield Zoo and Chicago Botanic Gardens as well as a number of other preserves.
Property Tax Administration: Cook County oversees the assessment of a property's value as well as the calculation of taxes and collection of property tax bills.
Transportation: Cook County is responsible for managing and maintaining some of the streets and highways located within the Village including all of Sanders Road as well as portions of Walters Avenue, Techny Road, Landwehr Road and Sunset Ridge Road.

Northfield Township serves as a liaison to Cook County on property tax questions, provides passport services, delivers general and emergency financial assistance, administers a dial-a-ride service for seniors and people with disabilities, issues ID travel cards, registers voters, operates the Northfield Township Food Pantry, runs an extensive recycling program and maintains roads and bridges in unincorporated areas.
